  STRINGS(Violins, Violas, cellos and Double Basses)String instruments are played by drawing a bow (made of wood and hair from a horse’s tail)  across a set of strings (made of metal) or by plucking the strings.

The larger the instrument the lower the sound.  The string instrument in order of size are: violin, viola, cello and bass.  Strings instrument are the main group of instruments in the orchestra because of their full rich sound and flexibility.
