They knew this because they could hear the One song, the same song in everything. In every rock and stream and fish in every deer and little child and old person. You can hear it too, if you listen carefully to the sound of the winter wind through the trees, the sound of the water against the side of the boat.If you listen carefully and with an open heart then you will hear this this is the sound of the one song...

sings/

Track 11

narrator/At first the people were happy as they went about their lives they could always hear the song happily in the background.Gradually life got busier and busier, they were building things working at their machines hammering and  sawing but as they worked they could still hear the song. But everything kept getting faster and more complicated . After a while the song began to change it was not as happy anymore, so the people stopped listening, it was quite hard to hear by now anyway.

Track 12

narrator/Until one day when the people opened their windows instead of the sweet sound of the song they heard only this.

Track 13

narrator/They went about their lives but something was missing the sky was less blue the  was water bitter in their mouths, they did not know it but the song was gone.

track14

narrator/sea birds cries now metallic and winter steeped,  hover over the firmaments grayed and heavy brow and call down discordant upon the seas steady encroachment.sings/A land without song a land with out meaning a cold and bitter prison to hold the souls of man. I remember when the air was light, the water clear and sweet, all the land was full of promise. oh where has it gone?

Track 15

Without the knowledge of the song darkness and chaos descended upon the land.

Track 16

narr/the people gathered, how can we make things as they used to be? we must look amongst the people who have lived here the longest and ask what has changed so they called for the oldest and wisest elder.sings/there is a song that binds us to the land a song that binds and so makes us free.narr/ what must we do then?  they people asked, to make things as they once were.sings/you must bring back the song. bring back the song and all will be well the land will be as it once  was.

Track 17

narr/Be careful said the elder for the one song has many voices you must learn to recognize the true song from the false

Track 18

Track 19

narr/they came to a dark and swampy forest and could not pass.

Track 20

narr/it seemed like there was no way past when suddenly in a swirl of leaves the elder appeared to them. There are 3 paths through the forest but only one is safe. you must listen for the path that sings the one song and take only it.

Track 21

the 1st path was through the reeds that sang enticingly....all that choose it perished

Track 22

the 2nd path was through the rocks that tempted with their noble song.. all that choose it perished

Track 23

Track 29

and there it was echoing from peak to peak

Track 30

Past great cliffs and falling rocks they followed the song

Track 31

They marched on until they came to a roaring river that blocked their passage.

Track 32

As they sat beside the river exhausted the elder appeared to them this time as a single drop of water. As they peered closer at the drop of water they saw that inscribed upon it's surface in very very small print and in the hand writing of the elder this text,sings/ The least amongst you know they are the greatest. the greatest thing is the smallest thing and they can never be apart. Now think how you are very small and how the world is big.

Track 33

narr/and with the knowledge that the huge river was just made of single  drops of water of water they were able to follow it as the single drops became a creek a stream a river out past the rapids and into the great wide sea.

Track 34

Track 35

narr/at last after many years they reached the ends of the earthtired and dispirited they still ha

d not found the song

Track 36

as they drew their last breaths the elder appeared to them a final time, in the form of an ancient cedar.as they listened the creaking of its branches in the wind the sound of the water dripping from it's branches they at last came to realize what they had always known…….and as their lips parted the song that they had always carried with them was released into the world.

Track 37

sings/ alas life must sometimes leave to return on the breeze of a summers day, always part of the world.
